September 19, 2018 (Indianapolis, IN) – Acclaimed singer, songwriter and Broadway star, Shoshana Bean will stop in Indianapolis on Friday, September 28 and Saturday, September 29, as part of the national tour for her new album Spectrum. The album, which debuted at #1 on the iTunes and Billboard Jazz Charts, presents Bean’s contemporary take on big band jazz, popularized by music legends such as Frank Sinatra and Aretha Franklin.
Bean’s four independent album releases have all topped the iTunes charts in the US and UK. Broadway fans will recognize Bean as the first actress to take over the role of Elphaba from Idina Menzel in the Broadway production of the musical Wicked. Bean has also starred in Beaches, Funny Girl and Hairspray.
Outside of Broadway, Bean has toured with Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox and sang back up for Michael Jackson for his 30th-anniversary concert at Madison Square Garden. Her music has been featured in television shows on NBC, MTV, Oxygen, Bravo and Showtime.
Audiences can expect Bean to bring her soulful, powerhouse vocals to haunting originals, new workings of contemporary hits and beloved classics, featuring arrangements by Grammy Award-nominated arranger Alan Ferber. Tickets are available here.
